Desire Cruise Review Mediterranean 2026 – Our First 3 Days on Oceania Allura
There are cruises that need a day or two to warm up.
This was definitely not going to be one of them.
Welcome to my Desire Cruise Review Mediterranean 2026, coming to you from onboard the beautiful Oceania Allura.
I am writing this three days into the Desire Seductive Mediterranean Cruise, and already there is a very different energy developing on this ship.
Some of that comes from Desire. Some comes from the guests. And quite a lot of it comes from putting Desire aboard a brand-new luxury ship where the food is fabulous, the wine keeps appearing, and nobody seems particularly concerned about putting their bathing suit back on.
Oscar Wilde probably would have fit right in:
“I can resist everything except temptation.” – Oscar Wilde
Welcome aboard Desire.
Day 1 – Well, That Didn’t Take Long
We arrived at the Trieste Cruise Terminal early, expecting the usual embarkation process.
Instead, everything was ready.
Check-in was smooth, we were ushered right aboard, and there was that wonderful first-day bustle of people finding their cabins, recognizing old friends and discovering a new ship.
Then we walked out onto the pool deck.
Oh.
The pool was already full.
The drinks were already flowing.
And the guests were already naked.
Now, that may not sound particularly remarkable if you’ve traveled on Desire before, but it actually was.
On some previous ships, nudity wasn’t permitted while we were still sitting in port. Allura wasn’t even leaving Trieste until the following day, so I wasn’t expecting the Desire pool experience to begin quite so quickly.
Apparently nobody told this crowd they were supposed to wait.
Full nudity was allowed from Day 1, guests embraced it immediately, and suddenly the cruise wasn’t “getting started.”
It had started.
Desire Takes Over Oceania Allura
The official poolside kickoff gave everyone their first introduction to the Desire team, including the Playmakers and Sexperts.
Mario, of course, introduced himself with his signature, “It’s me, Mario,” delivered exactly the way you’re imagining it from the video game.
Meanwhile, the Oceania service team was circulating around the pool in uniform with butlered appetizers and drinks.
That juxtaposition made me smile.
Beautiful new Oceania ship. Impeccably uniformed servers. Passed hors d’oeuvres.
Naked people.
Somehow it all worked.
There was live music, the pool was rocking, and it became our first real glimpse of what Desire aboard Allura was going to feel like.
It’s still Desire.
It’s simply Desire with a rather lovely new address.

Dinner on Our Own Private Yacht
That first evening, we did something incredibly simple that turned into one of my favorite experiences of the cruise so far.
We had dinner outside on the aft verandah of the buffet restaurant.
Behind us was this gorgeous new ship. In front of us was the marina and Trieste.
There was a beautiful breeze coming off the water, great friends around the table and lots of laughter. Sitting there on the back of Allura, it felt less like being on a large cruise ship and more like someone had loaned us a very extravagant private yacht for the evening.
We opened a bottle of Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc, one of the premium wines included in the Desire cruise package, and settled in.
This is also where I’m beginning to appreciate one of the differences aboard Allura.
There is very little feeling of being nickel-and-dimed.
Want the wine? Have the wine.
Specialty coffee? Included.
Wi-Fi? Included.
Fresh water is replenished in large reusable bottles in the cabin, and guests receive their own metal water bottles rather than going through an endless parade of disposable plastic bottles.
Then there are the restaurants.
Every guest receives a reservation in each of Oceania’s specialty restaurants at no additional charge.
Believe me, we’re putting that particular perk to the test.
Kings, Queens and One Very Different Kind of Crown
Night 1 was Kings & Queens.
This is one of the things I love about Desire Cruise theme parties. Give 1200 adults the same instructions, and you will get so many different interpretations.
We had proper British-style royalty.
We had glamorous queens.
We had crowns and tiaras.
There were opera gloves, flowing skirts and strategically placed pasties.
And yes, there was Burger King royalty.
Some guests went elegant. Others went sexy. A few apparently decided the monarchy needed a sense of humor.
That’s exactly how a Desire theme party should work. You can spend months creating an elaborate costume or put on a crown and declare yourself king of absolutely anything you please.
Nobody is grading you.
Just come play.
Day 2 – Trieste, TSC Friends and Restaurant Hopping
Because Allura remained overnight in Trieste and wasn’t scheduled to sail until late afternoon, we had another opportunity to explore.
We headed ashore early before the August heat really got going.
Trieste is an interesting city to simply wander. We explored the historic center, took in the architecture and enjoyed having a destination where you don’t necessarily need an elaborate plan.
Several guests went farther afield and crossed into nearby Slovenia for the day. The reports coming back were excellent.
That’s one I’m filing away for the future because our 2028 Desire itinerary ends in Trieste. Spending a little extra time here and adding Slovenia could make a wonderful extension.
Then we returned to Allura.
And went restaurant hopping.
Because apparently this is what happens when you put Miss Lynn on an Oceania ship.

A Wellness Shot Followed by a Lobster Burger
We started at Aquamar Kitchen, Oceania’s wellness-focused restaurant.
We ordered an Immunity shot with turmeric and ginger, which made us feel extremely virtuous.
So naturally, we followed that by going in search of a Wagyu burger topped with lobster tail.
Balance.
I had mine with a cold IPA.
Also balance.
As Julia Child famously said:
“People who love to eat are always the best people.” – Julia Child
Three days aboard an Oceania ship and I’m beginning to think Julia would have done very well on Desire.
There is also a premium coffee venue that we’re becoming acquainted with, plus a Crêperie with fresh waffles, sweet crêpes and ice cream.
We are only on Day 3.
This could become dangerous.
Meanwhile, Back at the Pool…
Even though we were still sitting in Trieste, the pool deck was packed again.
And yes, everyone was still naked.
There is something rather wonderfully decadent about looking across at a historic European city from the deck of a luxury ship while wearing absolutely nothing.
By this point, the surprise of Day 1 had evolved into something else.
This was simply how daytime aboard Desire Allura worked.
Music was playing, cocktails were flowing, conversations were happening everywhere and the pool was full of very happy people.
Then it was time for us to put some clothes on.
We had a rather large group of TSC friends waiting for us.
TSC-Cruises Meet & Greet at Martinis
At 5:00 p.m., we headed to Martinis for our TSC-Cruises.com Meet & Greet.
Several hundred TSC guests joined Ellie, Silvina and me for cocktails.
This is one of my favorite parts of what we do.
Some faces belong to friends who have traveled with us again and again. Others belong to couples we’re finally meeting in person after months of emails and phone calls.
There are hugs and introductions. Then something I love begins to happen.
People who arrived knowing only us start getting to know one another.
With such a large TSC group aboard, Martinis felt like our own little reunion.
And then Allura finally sailed away from Trieste.
Now we were really going somewhere.
Dinner With Desire
That evening we had a dinner meeting with members of the Desire management team in Jacques, which for this cruise was serving the Red Ginger menu.
There’s a very Desire reason for that.
The actual Red Ginger restaurant has been transformed into the sexy couples play area for the charter.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Only on Desire can a conversation about specialty restaurant logistics end with, “We needed the restaurant for sex.”
Jacques was packed, and I particularly liked seeing guests using the share tables.
If you want to meet new people, you simply request to dine at a shared table. You arrive for dinner with your partner and potentially leave having met several new friends.
That’s such an easy, natural way for couples to connect.
Our own dinner was also important because the Desire team wanted our feedback on how the transition to this new ship was working.
They weren’t waiting until the end of the cruise to ask.
They wanted to know now.
What is working? What could work better? What are our guests saying? Is there something that needs adjusting?
That willingness to make changes in real time matters to me, especially when everyone is learning how Desire works aboard an entirely new ship.
So far, the overwhelming reaction I’m hearing is pretty simple:
Guests love Allura.
House of Scoundrel – And Yes, We Saw Everything
The evening entertainment moved to the Allura Lounge on Deck 5 for House of Scoundrel.
Our own TSC Mermaid Silvina was there and reported back.
The lounge was packed, with guests arriving before the doors opened. One thoughtful touch was having prepared drinks available outside the theater, so people could grab that first cocktail without immediately standing in another bar line.
The approximately 40-minute production was built around rock music, dancers and specialty performances.
The female dancers brought plenty of sexy energy to the stage, while the Cyr ring performance was one of the standouts of the show.
And then there was one particular male dancer.
Let’s just say his costume eventually stopped interfering with the audience’s appreciation of his… talent.
Completely.
This wasn’t a quick wardrobe malfunction followed by a strategically placed hand.
The gentleman is apparently rather well known for what he brings to the production, and House of Scoundrel made sure everyone understood why.
The audience seemed appreciative.
Very appreciative.
Not every number landed equally well, but that’s almost beside the point. The show did exactly what it was supposed to do.
It turned up the temperature and kicked everyone out of theater mode and straight into party mode.
From there, the night rolled into dancing and the theme party.
Which brings us to Day 3.

Day 3 – Our First Sea Day and the Battle of the Pool Chairs
Yes, this is the Oceania Allura Pool deck – minus hundreds of sexy people ready to party. And the sea days on a Desire Cruise are usually when things really get going.
Nobody has anywhere else to be. No shore excursion is calling. No ancient cathedral needs visiting.
And bathing suits on this cruise are clearly optional.
There was just one problem. The chairs.
Desire and Oceania had actually anticipated the demand for pool seating. Desire proactively arranged to bring approximately 100 additional chairs aboard for this cruise.
They also established a very clear policy: no saving chairs. If a chair is left unattended for more than an hour, belongings can be removed so another guest can use it.
Reasonable enough.
Except apparently a few guests decided to begin reserving tomorrow’s chairs tonight.
After the show and party on Night 2, people were leaving books and other belongings on chairs to stake their claim for the next morning.
By the time early risers arrived at the pool on our first sea day, chairs appeared occupied even though their supposed occupants were nowhere to be found.
And thus began the Great Desire Chair War of 2026. There were some understandably grumbly guests that morning.
This is also where I give Desire and Oceania credit.
They didn’t ignore it.
Belongings are now being removed when chairs remain unattended too long, and both teams are actively working on the problem rather than allowing a handful of chair hogs to control the pool deck.
A new ship and a new charter combination inevitably creates little wrinkles that nobody anticipates until hundreds of real people arrive and start using the space.
What matters is how quickly those wrinkles get ironed out. This one is being addressed.
And in true Desire to share fashion, some guests doubled up and shared. Everyone actually found somewhere to put their naked bottoms, the sea day could continue.
Desire Cruise Review Mediterranean 2026 – What Do We Think of Oceania Allura So Far?
Three days into this Desire Cruise Review Mediterranean 2026, I think Allura is a fabulously good fit for Desire.
The ship gives the cruise a more sophisticated backdrop without making Desire feel overly formal.
You can have a wellness shot in the morning, a lobster-topped Wagyu burger for lunch, Sauvignon Blanc with dinner and end your evening watching a gentleman demonstrate why his particular talents probably aren’t listed on LinkedIn.
That’s range.
The food has been excellent.
Guests are using the restaurants as social spaces rather than simply places to eat.
The pool has quickly become the daytime heartbeat of the cruise.
At night, the entertainment is doing what Desire entertainment should do. It isn’t trying to be Broadway. It’s there to move the evening from cocktails to something sexier, then send everyone toward the theme party ready to play.
Most importantly, the guests seem happy.
There are little things to work out. The pool-chair situation is the obvious example, and I’m sure we’ll discover a few more as the week progresses.
But that’s exactly why I’m writing this Desire Cruise Review Mediterranean 2026 while we’re actually onboard rather than trying to remember how everything felt six months later.
I want you to know what this cruise really feels like.
Three days in, Allura feels luxurious without being stuffy. Desire still feels deliciously naughty. And perhaps most importantly, people are connecting.
Somewhere between the naked pool deck, dinner overlooking Trieste, a room full of TSC friends, a lobster-topped burger and a Rockstar Show that left very little to the imagination, I realized something.
Desire hasn’t simply moved onto a newer ship.
It feels like Desire is discovering what it can do with one.
And we still have four days to go.
